Lesson 7: Media and Information Languages
Hi! Welcome back to my blog!
In this week's blog, I will first insert a picture of a poster and the identified symbolic codes and conventions that was used. And after that, I will say my insights about our Lesson, which is the Media and Information Languages.
My insights:
Learning the codes in media messages are important for someone who wants to direct a film, for someone who is a film enthusiast and also for normal people, so it is basically important for everyone. Because in learning this, you will be able to identify right away what you need to expect from the film, so you won't be disappointed if you have too much expectations. And if you become an expert in identifying these codes, other people might listen to your opinions and you can make this your job. The colors used in the scenes, the dress codes, the camera angles and many more.
This are always applicable in the lives of someone who always loves watching films. Just like in Netflix or other apps that can be used in watching different films, when choosing what to watch next, other people base on the poster of the film, they are looking for a film that what will catch their attention, depending on what they feel to watch whether they feel like watching horrors, comedies, romances, fictions and etc. When looking at some random posters, when you see dark colors, you can assume that it is horror, mystery or thriller kind of films. And when you see a cartooned posters that is full of bright colors, you can easily assume that those kinds of films are for kids or for the whole family.
Thank you for reading my blog, see you next week! Stay safe, stay well! Ciao! :)
