Lesson 2: Similarities and Differences of Media Literacy, Information Literacy, and Technology Literacy.

        For this week's lesson, our topic is about The Similarities and Differences of Media Literacy, Information Literacy and Technology Literacy. And in order to make our reflective journal, our educator made us evaluate different scenarios if we can distinguish which kind of Literacy was used.
Scene 1:
        As for my evaluation, the Literacies that was used are Information and Technology Literacies. Because the two researchers are looking for applicable Informations, but because there are many articles regarding their research, they used an advanced search engine technology to make it easier to look informations for their reports.
Scene 2:
        To what I've read, the Literacies that was used are Media and Information Literacies. Because, Jeffry can easily make infographic posters that contains relevant informations about his works/reports. And he wouldn't have known these if it wasn't for his TLE-ICT Teacher, Mr. Marlon.
Scene 3:
        Based on the said scenario, the Literacy that was used is only Information Literacy. Because, Jenny was skeptical at first after reading a certain post about a coming storm surge in the province where her family stays. But because one of her co-worker (Rod) is Information Literate, he asked her to check the validity of the author of the said news to know if it's true or false. And in seing some comments she's finally relaxed when the comments said that the news was false.
        In this lesson, I've learned that there are many things to be literate about other than Media and Information like Technology and their similarities and differences; Like in Media and Information Literacy, where combined skills and competencies are necessary in both Literacies. In Media and Technology, where visual literacy knowledge building and cultural competence are present in both. And lastly in Information and Technology Literacies, where you can access, synthesize, evaluate and create information in both literacies. The world is big and using these knowledge will make my life easier and it'll also help other people to make this a career and make living with this Literacies like IT and etc.
