Lesson 1: Introduction to Media and Information Technology
In understanding the process of communication, our educator, Mr. Lalaguna, presented us with some models called Transmission Models; Laswell’s Communication Model as proposed by Harold Laswell tells that this model is relatively and straightforward from the communicator the message flows in a medium and the other person receives the message with corresponding effect or answer. Shannon and Weaver's Communication Model is a revision of Laswell’s model, which includes the noise. Westley and MacLean’s Communication Model is also a revision of the first 2 models which includes many events.

There are also Expressive Models where communication happens for a person to share his/her emotions to other people. Publicity Model where the most important key is to get the attention of the audience or viewers. There are also 2 Reception Models; Schramm's Model of Communication that says communication is a loop where after the encoder sends a message to the decoder, the decoder becomes the encoder and gives a reply to the encoder that becomes the decoder. Berlo’s SMCR Model of Communication is a reception model that includes each of the backgrounds of Laswell’s Model.
This lesson is important especially to those people that are “old school” or people who still don’t know their way into technologies, this is also important to those people who are curious about the ways of communication, etc. And this lesson can be simply applied in our daily lives, in communicating with other people and right now, as you are reading this message you are using Media and Information Technology.
Thank you for reading my blog, see you next week! Stay safe, stay well! Ciao! :)
